Haiku

Two Minutes' Peace

John is a practitioner and proponent of the short Japanese poetic style known as the haiku. The haiku is traditionally comprised of 17 syllables divided into three lines of 5, 7, and 5 syllables respectively.  Nature references are a staple of the style.  Haiku strives to emphasize the extraordinary found within the ordinary through a literary snapshot of a specific moment and place in the poet's life.
Samples of John's haiku are on this website.

"Two Minutes' Peace" is a short e-devotional for real Christians in a real world facing very real struggles and is sent out Monday through Saturday from JohnHouseholder.com.
The concept sprang from a series of e-mails and letters between John and a friend in later half of 2006, and in December of that year TMP was created.
People from a great variety of places, backgrounds, and spiritual stances subscribe to TMP and are challenged and encouraged by it's unique insights and perspectives on the Scripture.
